ORIENTATION
[When you start to stir from your slumber, you awaken to the smell of dust and rotted wood. Your bed is far from comfortable -- lumps in the mattress, a tattered blanket that barely keeps you warm and a pillow almost as hard as a rock-- and you'll immediately see there are others in your room with you.
All of you are confused, surely. "Where am I?" "What place is this?" Questions like that stir through your mind while you take in your surroundings. Something might catch your eye before anything else, though. A coloured chest tied with a bow, a large gift tag is attached to it with your name on it. There's one for everyone in each dorm, and if you open it you'll find:
An old, worn school uniform.
A colourful costume.
And a pamphlet with information about you, about your stay in this Academy, and a map of the layout of the school and the training grounds outside. The descriptions are vague, leaving out important details about your new super powers called "Quirks", a bland description about how you were selected to join the Academy called "VA" (no explanation what it means), and even the map has lame descriptions of locations that don't really give you a good idea of where you're staying.
Before you can start exploring, or chatting away with your neighbors, a voice rings over old intercoms. It sounds low and comforting, like a long lost friend. But there's something about that that feels.. unsettling. A feeling in your gut that this voice was anything but friendly.
"Welcome, students. You must be very confused, but I assure you I'll be able to answer all the questions you have in just a few minutes.
For now, relax, explore, and meet your new classmates who will be staying with you during this semester.
Oh, but..... whatever you do, don't enter the dining room."
The intercom cuts off, leaving you with a cryptic message to think about on top of.. everything else you're dealing with right now.]

Dining Hall
Do you want to open the doors? Or are you going to change your mind last minute?]
no subject
No, just kidding, it's Todoroki. He's gonna try and open the door.]
1/2
no subject
And it looks less than happy.
It takes a step out, looking as though it's ready to fight.]

[He manages to recover quickly enough. Though the door left a nice bruise on his shoulder. TIME TO LIGHT IT ON FIRE.]

Nomu-
[Mirio breathes, his eyes widening as the hulking creature suddenly comes out of the dining room, and like.
Mirio has no way to stop it. He can't reach Permeation, he hasn't tried to reach his new Quirk, but he can't just let this thing kill everyone in this room either!]
Everyone get out of here! You cannot stop this thing! Now!

We could get it back in that room. It would stall it. Not forever, but if we could manage to push it back...
[It's been in there this long, right?]
no subject
And if we can push it back, it stands to reason we may as well try to overpower it utterly, now does it not?
no subject
You'll see for yourself. Overpowering it isn't going to work like you hope it will!
[All Might can stop One Nomu. At max strength, the power times fifty of what they have.
It's not going to work.]

[If only her lance hadn't been destroyed...]
What is this thing?!
no subject
Wait no, don't open that-
[Andddd there he goes.
And there's the monster.
And Ango is desperately reaching behind him for a gun that should be there but is not.
Welp.]

[Pyrrha didn't have to know what the hell this thing was to see that it looked dangerous.
She just gently inserts herself in between Nomu and anyone who looks like they're having a hard time getting away.]
This... this isn't any Grimm I've seen before.
no subject
But she doesn't otherwise react, still placidly smiling. ]
no subject
[ ...oh god
Yeah, Choro's definitely gonna scream in terror (
which does not activate his quirk yet mind you) and skedaddle outta here....Or at least try to skedaddle before he trips over his feet and falls to the floor. Goddamn his clumsy ass. ]
no subject
he'll just step away from that and, well, he hasn't gotten a handle over his Quirk just yet, but there's at least a chair flying at it as he continues to backpedal out of range ]
no subject
[He didn't know what this thing was, save for comparing it to a daemon.]
[But he did know that it was a monster that should not have existed.]
If you've no skill to fight, get behind me. The rest of you... This creature needs be dealt with immediately.
no subject
[Seriously, dude.]
If we run we might have time to make a plan of attack.
no subject
Were we or were we not supposedly granted powers in this place?! I should think this as good a time as any to use them and destroy this inhuman creature!
[somnus is not often one for 'plans'.]

She at least recognizes bad juju when she sees it.
She's clutching her useless map, but other than that she has no weapons or defenses, so this is probably for the best. She does pay some attention to those naming the creature, though.]
