What do we need?

My thought is making something we can build a controlled fire in. Without windows or many blankets, it will get cold tonight.

That's true... [Making a fire inside the building? Hmmm...that will need a container, yup. But what to use...] But if we make fires indoors, won't we risk the smoke suffocating us?

[If there are no windows then we'll need a way to get the smoke out of the building!]

There are enough holes in the building I'm not too concerned. If we're here long enough to patch those we might have to adjust it.
