I was never allowed to do such a thing. Everyone used to be rather insistent about it.

[Because it was the servants' job and Sonia was told she shouldn't bother herself with such tasks -- because she had other things to be doing, focus on those, Sonia]

Oh... [It's a little sad, isn't it? Although, if it's just cleaning--] I can only do so much myself, mostly just picking up after myself in my room, but I try to help where I'm allowed to.

Oh, unless! Are you someone important, and that's why?

Helping is something to be proud of. Even doing a little bit can make life so much easier.

A princess! [Imagine a kid meeting Cinderella at a convenient Disney destination.] Just like in stories? You're really a royal princess?

That's correct! [Sonia seems flattered about the excitement Maria is showing] I live in a castle and although my kingdom is small, it's peaceful and charming.

I've never met a real princess before! [Or seen a castle or visited a kingdom or--] Oh, then this place must seem especially awful, all dirty and run-down and so far from your people!

It is not as bad as it seems! My status means I often don't have a chance to interact with other people freely. Just being around you all compensates the lacking accomodations.

That's such...a nice way of looking at it! I've been around a lot of the same people most of my life, so it's always nice to meet someone new! I just wish the circumstances weren't so very strange.

When we're out of here, we should all get together and spend some time without having to worry about that horrid man!

[Truly a shame such a rosy hope won't come true, what with the incoming deaths]

Mm. [It's a noise of agreement, sure, but Maria doesn't look as certain, pushing some hair back behind her ear.]

That might be nice. Though I'm sure we all have homes to get back to. But...oh, when would we ever have the chance to get to know each other in a normal way otherwise?

[Sonia looks away when going back home is mentioned -- partly because she doesn't really have one, and because of something else:]

It's not guaranteed we'll be able to return home, too...

[It's a terrible thought, of not being able to return home. But... She brings her hands up to her chest.]

...Can I tell you something? I miss home terribly, but...things weren't going well, before I woke up here. I don't...know what would happen if I went back.

Are you uncertain if returning to your home is the right thing to do?

[Boy does she sympathize with Maria. If Sonia returned to Novoselic after everyone in the island woke up...well she sure doubts anyone will receive her with open arms]
